Mrs. Mullins: 5th Grade Math

Hello My Name Is...

Debbie Mullins

Welcome to 5th Grade Math!

Each child is expected to have learned basic multiplication and division facts before entering 5th grade.  We will do "Sprints" and "Math Facts in a Flash" to develop speed and accuracy of the basic facts.  The 5th grade curriculum requires us to cover material at a very fast pace as it covers Numbers and Operations in Base Ten and in Fractions, Measurement, and Geometry. It is crucial for the students to do their homework as it is assigned. Homework is an essential part of the learning process and the students are expected to have it ready to check in class to ensure their understanding of the skills being taught before test time. All classwork and homework is to be kept neatly in the math section of their binder.  There is no set day for weekly math tests.  The days of the test are determined by the difficulty of the skills being presented.  Thank you in advance for all of your support throughout the school year.
