Miss Manning's Class

Science / Social Studies
Miss Manning

Dear Parents & Students,

Welcome to 4th Grade! I one of the 4th Grade Science and Social Studies Teachers. This is my second year here at Sallie Humble! I am a graduate of Grambling State University and will receive my Masters of Science in Education this upcoming spring semester.   I am excited about this new school year and I hope you and your child are as well. The education of your child is both a privilege and a great responsibility.  By working together, we can make sure that your child receives a great learning experience and have a wonderful school year, filled with learning experiences.

A new school year can influence children’s attitudes, confidence, and performance, both socially and academically. The transition from 3rd grade to 4th grade can be difficult for both children and parents. Even children who are eager to return to class must adjust to the greater levels of structure, activity, and for some, pressures associated with school life. How a child adjusts depends greatly on the child, but parents can help by doing several things like:

  •  planning ahead,
  •  being realistic,
  •  visiting the school on a regular basis,
  •  and helping your child maintain a positive attitude.
